We commit to reviewing and if necessary, changing our processes, for a more sustainable world and supply chain. We have already taken steps towards this goal:

  • We offset our carbon emissions, and are planning to make more use of solar panels throughout our buildings.
  • We work with sustainable and ethical suppliers.
  • The flour we use in our doughs is sourced within a 15-mile radius of our factory.
  • The palm oil that we use in our recipes is certified as sustainable.
  • All of our food waste is anaerobically digested to produce additional energy.
  • We are committed to reducing production waste.

We build and nurture great relationships with our customers, so that we can better understand their needs, and work together to develop quality products that make commercial sense.

The threads of creativity and innovation run through all our product development, which means we are continually striving to improve our recipes for consumers. We are actively working with our customers to optimise and develop new recipes that reduce fat, sugar and salt content.

As an inclusive employer, we commit to supporting, nurturing and developing everyone who works for us. We also nurture our people’s communities, by supporting local charities.

We use an Employee Assistance Program to provide support across a variety of areas. We run a monthly employee forum to allow all employees to have a voice in our organization.

We are also dedicated to nurturing future talent for the BakeAway business. We have introduced engineering apprenticeships and university industry placements, designed to give young people a fantastic start in our industry.

We want to play our part in supporting and representing British heritage and British production in the food industry, by being a local supplier for retailers.

The British government’s food strategy is also important to us and our product development. We are keen to work with policy makers, retailers and trade bodies, to play our part in the evolution of the food industry for the good of the consumer and the environment.

And we treat our suppliers fairly, so that we can create long-term partnerships that create a successful and growing industry.
